 FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions)

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes. You’re free to cancel at any time. No hidden terms, no cancellation fees, no penalty, no catch. When you cancel your subscription, your site will be deactivated and no longer viewable within 24 hours. If you change your mind within 14 days, we can easily reactivate your account. Subscription plans are not pro-rated.

I have my own hosting company that I use, do I have to use yours?

Yes. In order us to provide the ongoing monthly service for you, the website must be active on our servers. If you wish to change hosting companies or move your site, you can request a buy out (see “Do I own the website and content?” for details).

Do I own the website and content?

Any images, text, articles, videos, etc that you provide to us will remain your property. However, when signing up for a monthly plan with us you are giving us permission to use the design in part or whole within our design portfolio. We will not re-use your property at any time. It will only be seen and used on our portfolio page to showcase our work. The installation of WordPress and files, the database and the template remain property of Night Owls Collective.

If you cancel your subscription and you have been an active customer for 3 months or more, you may purchase a buy out. This includes a complete backup of the website and database along with the template that you can take with you to another company for a one time fee of $300. You can purchase the complete rights to the domain name (www.yourname.com) and it will be released from us for you to transfer to another hosting company for a one time fee of $25. This is what we refer to as a buy out.

Why is there a one-time setup fee?

Our setup fee is very reasonably priced and this is to cover the cost of: Your domain name purchase, setting up your hosting account, customizing your template, the cost of plugins we offer that are included in the package (you would otherwise have to purchase a license for), account creation and more.

What if I’m not happy with the design you create for me?

You will personally choose the template that we customize for you. It’s important that you really take the time to look through all of the ones we offer. Make sure to pick one that you like and will best fit the needs of your website, brand or business. If you need assistance with this or would like our input, please contact us at any time.

All of our monthly plans also include either 1, 2 or 4 rounds of revisions prior to launch. You’ll have the option to submit your revision requests to us to make changes to the content, design, images and layout of the website before we make your site live. The revisions do allow quite a bit of customization to the template but not a complete rework of the design so please choose wisely.

If after all revisions have been exhausted and you still do not like the website, contact us 1-800-423-5218 to go over other possible options and arrangements. Night Owls Collective does reserve the right to handle these occurrences on a case by case basis.

Rest assured, we will do our very best to make sure you are completely happy with your website design. Our happy clients are what keeps us growing! It’s a win-win for everyone involved.

How are updates and support handled?

Updates: While you have an active subscription with us we will keep your WordPress installation, plugins and security up to date. If an update that we perform causes issues or faults with your website, we will fix it at no cost to you. This does not cover the cost to fix or repair the site if you, any of your employees or associates make a change or update to the site and cause the issue. Please speak with us prior to making changes to the installation, settings or plugins to help avoid this.

Support: If you discover an error or issue with your website, you can submit a support ticket at any time through your account portal on our website. If you need maintenance or updates done to your website, you can submit a maintenance request through your account portal as well.

 

Will my monthly price ever increase?

The price you agree to when you sign up will be locked in for one year and cannot be changed. When your year is up, the price will adjust to the current pricing structure for the plan that you are enrolled in if it has been changed. The only changes in pricing that can take effect within your first year is if you decide to upgrade your plan. Night Owls Collective reserves the right at any time to change, alter, update or increase pricing or features included in our monthly plans for new customers. Specials, promotions and discounts apply to new customers only.

How do I submit my content and information to you?

You can submit your content, images, text, documents, pdf’s, videos, etc to us by either creating a content submission ticket through your account portal or you can email it to us at client@nightowlscollective.com. Please keep in mind that generally large files are not permitted to be sent through email. If you encounter this issue, we recommend using our ticket system through your account portal.

What do you need from me?

This will depend on which plan you choose and your individual needs. A general guideline to prepare for your websites design is:

  • Your logo (unless you’ve chosen us to provide this service for you at an additional charge)
  • Content or text for your pages (such as the about us, contact us, our team, products, services, locations, etc.)
  • Images that you would like used in the header or hero slider (unless you would like us to provide one – included in some plans)
  • Images that you would like included on any of your pages, blog posts, articles, news and events, portfolio or photo gallery
  • Contact information for yourself, your employees, co-workers or corporate information for the contact us page
  • A list of the information you would like to collect from your visitors on the contact us page (such as name, email, address, specific questions, etc.)
  • If newsletter integration is included in your plan, we’ll need your ID from the service you use (we can help with this), list name and text to describe your list
  • We can also import your current subscribers if you already have some (generally we’ll need an csv file for this but we may be able to import using other methods)
  • A list of your current or upcoming events, dates, times, contact information and locations if an events calendar is included in your plan
  • Your goal for your call to actions on the front page (what do you want your visitors to do? signup, purchase your product, contact you, etc.)
  • Is there any animations or effects that you would like to see on your front page if this is included in your plan, if so, what type
  • Any customer testimonials you have if you’d like them included (submit photos, customers name, company name, website and title if applicable)
  • Your service or product information, photos, text, pricing, shipping details, weight, merchant account details, etc. if your plan includes a shopping cart
  • Business information such as name, contact name, email address, phone numbers, hours of operation, physical address, etc. if your plan includes Google Business setup
  • If you would like social integration setup, please list all of your social network id’s, links and information (facebook, instagram, pinterest, google+, linkedin, etc.)
  • A list of emails addresses, forwarders and aliases that you would like created (also include employees, associates – such as j.doe@yourcompany.com or jane@yourcompany.com)
  • What you would like your website domain name to be (such as abcdcompany.com or thisismycompany.com, please include a few alternates in case your name is not available and has already taken)
  • The name of the template you have chosen from our shop along with a description of what you like, dislike about the template and what you envision for your site

Please keep in mind that we cannot complete your website design without the necessary information and content from you. Please try to have all items ready and submitted to us as soon as you purchase your plan. This will ensure the quickest turnaround time for completion. NOC cannot be held accountable for lost time or delays due to the client not providing all necessary information or content in a timely fashion. How long will it take to design my website?

This will depend on the plan your purchase, your unique business needs and our schedule. Generally the affordable plan will take 1-7 business days, the startup 1-14 business days and the deluxe plan 1-30 days. Again this will depend on your needs and how fast you provide the content to us for your website.

What are the terms & conditions of the agreement?

Upon making your first payment and paying the setup fee you are entering into and agreeing to a monthly billing agreement (subscription) with Night Owls Collective. Payments are made through PayPal. If after sign up you need to be invoiced rather than through the use of PayPal, please call us 1-800-423-5218 to discuss arrangements.

PayPal will automatically deduct your monthly payment amount on the same day of each recurring month. This is referred to as your billing date. For example: If you started your plan on the 12th of the month, you can expect the following months charge to occur on the 12th and so on. We do not send out reminder notices of when a payment is due.

You may at any time cancel your agreement and subscription with us. Your website will be deactivated within 24 hours. There are no cancellation fees and no penalties. Monthly plans upon cancellation are not pro-rated. If you would like take the website and content and your domain name with you, please contact us to discuss a buy out.

If at any time your payment is declined, your website may be temporarily deactivated within 24 hours of us receiving notice. If after 14 days your account has still not been paid in full and brought current, your website will be permanently deactivated. We do understand circumstances can arise, if you cannot make your payment on time please contact us to possibly make other arrangements. You must contact us prior to your billing date.

You understand by entering into a monthly agreement with Night Owls Collective that we will possibly include the website in our portfolio and will place a small text link on the bottom of the website in the footer area that states “Designed and Powered By: Night Owls Collective” with a link to our website. Upon cancellation and/or deactivation, you agree and understand that NOC may still include this website in our portfolio to showcase it as an example of our work.

Any changes to the actual design of the website or the framework after initial launch will incur an additional charge. This does not pertain to regular website updates or maintenance that are included in the monthly plan.

You may request at any time additional changes to the actual design of the website, the framework, copy writing of content for your pages, additional plugin installations, additional stock images, etc by submitting a quote request to us. We’ll look over your request and contact you with the estimated costs.
